Portrait of Abu Ali Hasan Ibn al-Haitham. He was a Muslim Arab mathematician, astronomer, and physicist of the Islamic Golden Age. Referred to as "the father of modern optics", he made significant contributions to the principles of optics and visual perception in particular.

Al Habda Minerat of the Great Mosque of Al-Nuri, Mosul Iraq.
The Great Mosque of Al-Nuri was famous for its leaning minaret, which gave the city its nickname "the hunchback" (الحدباء al-Ḥadbāˈ). The mosque withstood various hostile invading forces over its 850-year history until it was destroyed with its distinctive minaret in the Battle of Mosul in 2017
