Comments
Issued as part of the Series E banknotes issued by the Bank of Japan (Nippon Ginko) on November 1, 2004. Improved on May 12, 2014 with the transparent layer on the holographic patch on the lower left part of the front of the banknote enlarged in size and changed from an oval-shaped transparent layer to a rounded square transparent layer. The serial number's color was also changed from black to brown.
Banknotes with a serial number of 900001 or greater are replacement notes.
